HIDDEN GEMS
There are many gems amongst our listing - here are a few to wake your wanderlust. First up we go to Cambodia and fabulous hotel in Siem Reap called La Residence d'Angkor. Built around a large salt-water pool the construction makes use of stone, timber and shutters to create a feeling of "old Asia" - but one with all modern facilities. A perfect base from which to explore nearby Angkor Wat.
Next to Portugal and the World Heritage listed town city of Sintra. Here the current owners have lovingly restored an 18th century building to create a stunning B&B, the Quinta do Scoto. Close to Lisbon this B&B offers spacious rooms, warm and friendly service together with great value.
To Spain now for a visit to Madrid where you'll find the wonderful Hotel Atlantico. You're right in the middle of things here on the Gran Via and the hotel lives up to its top location with good service and spacious rooms.
Finally across to the UK for fabulous find at Marble Arch in London. The Sumner Hotel is housed in a beautiful Georgian Terrace in an ideal location for exploring London by foot or public transport. For value, comfort and convenience you'd be hard pressed to find better.
PIC OF THE MONTH
Our Pic of the Month for November shows the old town of Dubrovnik at its best. Framed by solid stone walls built to withstand invaders the view is towards the whitewashed villas overlooking the harbour. It's beautifully composed and perfectly exposed - the very essence of good travel photography.
